Meet Our Executive Team

Emma Klein
Convenor Academic
Emma is a final year Austin student who fell in love with MDSC a little later than most of her predecessors. She’s excited to challenge her leadership skills and to bring the student body a conference they can enjoy and be proud of. When not MDSC-ing, she obsessively collects embroidery thread, faces her inner demons at 1R and walks her pup, Onyx.
Athena Stathoulis
Convenor Internal
Athena is an MD3 student at Epworth and in her third year on the MDSC organising team. Outside of placement, she enjoys K-dramas, debating yet another Jellycat purchase, and attending a worrying number of HIIT classes. With her co- convenor by her side, she tackles MDSC planning with a coffee in hand, smiling through the chaos as fires blaze gently around them.
Abigail Rowe
Rural Health Advisor
Abigail is a final year rural student, born and raised in Mildura, with aspirations to return and train as a Rural Generalist. She is completing the end-to-end rural pathway and is currently placed in Echuca. With her rural experience and network of rural contacts, she hopes to bring her passion and unique perspective to MDSC 2025.
Lila Pupillo
First Nations Health Advisor
Lila is an MD3 at the Royal Melbourne Clinical School, with a strong commitment to elevating First Nations voices wherever possible. Outside of her studies, she spends most of her time capturing far too many cute photos of her cat.
Lara Wirth
Academic Day 1 Convenor
Lara is an MD3 at the Northern Hospital who's excited to examine the ways we use humour to help lighten the load of working in healthcare. You can usually find her sculling coffees, teaching pilates or planning a halloween costume.
Raelynn Tong
Academic Day 2 Convenor
Raelynn is an Austin MD4 who is always down for a good story. In her fourth year on the organising team, she is delighted to lead her wonderful subcommittee in exploring patient narratives using a lifespan approach. Outside of medicine, she can be found on a climbing wall or judo mat.
Michael Xie
Academic Day 3 Convenor
Michael is an MD3 at the Northern Hospital who wants to shine a light on the future of medical practise and the current research being done to change the practise of tomorrow. You can catch him playing badminton, sleeping or travelling around the world.
Dawn Lee
Academic Day 4 Convenor
Dawn is an MD4 at Epworth Clinical School, excited about leading an inspiring day on stigma, stereotypes, and biases. She’s passionate about learning from others and values the richness that comes from diverse people and cultures. Outside of medicine, you'll see her running, doing pilates, or shopping.
Justine Solomon
Feedback, Assessment, Research & External (FARE) Officer
Justine is a final year student organising the research presentations, assessment criteria, feedback collection and sessions led by external companies. When she has free time outside medicine she can be found singing, dancing or at the piano. She is excited to see people’s research shine. Come chat to her about any feedback you have for MDSC!
James Zhang
Events Coordinator
James is a MD2 at the Royal Melbourne. James enjoys tennis, piano, and skiing among other hobbies; but most of all - he enjoys having a good time. Therefore, this year's special events are guaranteed to be both sensational and silly, so come down and make some memories with your mates. See you there!
Samantha Le Nepveu
Executive Logistics - Academic
Sammy is a rural MD3 student spending the year in the beautiful town of Bright. As the unofficial organiser of most groups she has been a part of, logistics was a natural choice for her involvement in MDSC. In her spare time, you can find her with an iced latte yapping, reading, painting, or obsessing over her two bulldogs!
Desaree Tan
Executive Logistics - Internal
Desaree is a second year medical student who is an avid spreadsheet enjoyer and organising fanatic! Aside from the logistics field, she is hoping to create an awe-inspiring conference with her peers. When she isn't on her computer you can find her fishing, eating lots of good food, thrifting and venturing to other parts of the world!
Tobiah Ng
Executive Logistics - Workshops
Tobiah is an MD3 who is becoming dangerously addicted to spreadsheets and Qualtrics. 🪵 Being part of the organising team for the past two years has greatly enriched his MDSC experience. When he switches off his logistical mind, you can find him food hunting, travelling, and struggling with his Duolingo lessons. He hopes everyone has a wonderful time at MDSC2025!!
Sunny Yuqing Lu
Sponsorship & Partnership Officer
Sunny is a final year medical student grateful to lead the amazing MDSC Sponsorship Team for a second time, she is keen to deliver a thrilling conference experience for all medical students and sponsors. She loves pilates and skiing. She also enjoys adventures to across the world in addition to tennis, golf, Chinese classical dance, and a daily matcha latte.
Justin Gerber
Publications & Promotions Officer
Justin is a MD3 at RMH in his third year being involved with MDSC. With an avid interest in photography, covering everything from motorsports to landscapes, he hopes to capture all aspects of the conference and enable everyone to reflect on fond memories of the greatest conference!
Denis Shi
Publications & Promotions Officer
Denis is a third year medical student at St. V's and been involved with MDSC ever since he was an MD1. Outside of med, he is an avid fan of doomscrolling insta reels at 3am, which made pubs and promos a natural fit for him. He hopes to bring the exhilarating and tantalising sensation of discovering the next reel to MDSC2025.
Claira Lee
Workshops Coordinator
Meet Claira, an MD3 at the Austin Hospital keen to introduce some fun surgical workshops to the conference with her reliable partner Anna, because she believes there's simply no better way to learn. When she's not napping on her long commutes, you can find her baking, badminton-ing and relishing in the temporary joy that are caffeinated beverages.

Workshops Coordinator
Anna is an MD3 at the Austin who is passionate about making the medical student experience hands-on! With her trusty partner in crime, Claira, she is excited to bring a diverse workshops program to MDSC 2025. Outside of the hospital she could be mistaken for a senior citizen with hobbies such as knitting, baking and a very beloved vegetable patch.
Emily Ludovici
Wellness Coordinator
Emily is an MD3 at the Austin who is passionate about exploring different ways to feel happy and healthy whilst being a student. She likes to decompress by hanging out with her cat, gaming and going on nature walks. She's really to be working with her co- coordinator, Ann, and the amazing wellness sub-comm to host fun activities- get excited :)).

Wellness Coordinator
Ann is an MD3 at RMH who tries her best to have a life outside of medicine, hence being excited to bring fun times through Wellness with her amazing co- coordinator, Emily. She just wants everyone to enjoy their MDSC experience to the fullest! Outside of placement, you can find her enjoying a sweet treat with friends, watching the sunset or at the bouldering gym.
